How to get set up

Do the steps in order. Steps 1 to 5 are a one-time setup; after that you can take payments at the counter, on your website, or both.

  1. On your phone

    Download the GoBTC Pay app

Install the app, sign in and import your GoMining wallet. Your Bitcoin revenue is paid into this wallet.

  2. In the merchant dashboard

    Create your merchant account

Sign up with your work email and a password, then confirm your email address.

    • Add your business name. The public display name is what customers see when they pay.
    • Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app or a passkey.
  3. Dashboard and phone together

    Link your wallet

In the dashboard, open the receiving wallet section and start linking. A QR code appears on screen. Scan it with the GoBTC Pay app, and the dashboard will show your wallet as linked, with its Bitcoin address.

Tip: the QR code works once and expires after a short time. Have your phone ready before you start; if it expires, start linking again.

  4. In the merchant dashboard

    Complete your business profile

Add your display name, a short description, business category, support email and logo. This is what customers see at checkout and what we use to list you on the GoBTC Pay website.

  5. In the merchant dashboard

Create a store and a POS terminal

A store is one business location or website. A POS terminal is one place inside it where you take payments, like a till or a checkout page.

    • Create a store. Only the name is required; address, country and timezone are optional.
    • Inside the store, create a POS terminal and give it a label, for example “Front counter” or “Online shop”.

Save the API key now. Each terminal gets its own key when it is created. You need it to connect your website. If it is ever exposed, rotate it from the terminal settings.

  6. Pick what fits your business

    Choose how you take payments

No integration needed. Create each payment from the merchant dashboard: enter the amount, and show the customer the QR code on your screen.

  7. You and your customer

    Take your first payment

Create a payment for the amount you want to charge. The customer scans the QR code with the GoBTC Pay app, checks the amount and your business name, and confirms. Follow the payment in the payments section of your dashboard:

InitiatedPayment created, waiting for the customer.
PaidCustomer paid. The sale is complete at the counter.
    ClearedConfirmed on-chain. Final and settled.

Expired or canceled? The customer didn’t pay in time or the payment was canceled. Nothing was charged; create a new payment.

A flat 0.2% of each sale, taken at settlement, and nothing at all for your customers. On a $100 sale, you keep $99.80. Every fee is itemised in your dashboard, with a monthly statement.

The payment is confirmed instantly at checkout, so the sale is done as fast as a card payment. On-chain settlement then follows, on average every 12 hours, through GoMining’s mining pool.

No. Once a payment is settled on-chain it is final, so there are no chargebacks or dispute windows. Refunds are handled by you, under your own returns policy.

You do. Payments go to your own wallet, which you link in step 3. GoBTC Pay wallets use a 2-of-3 multi-signature setup, so no single party, including GoMining, can move funds alone.

A POS terminal for your website (step 5), and either our WooCommerce plugin or an integration with the POS API (step 6).
